NOVEMBER 2025 CSA NEWSLETTER

Last chance to get your Thanksgiving turkeys! We are shipping your turkeys in this share OR can hold your share until Nov. 17th and ship. They grew SO well on pasture and are between 10-20 lb. each. We also finished up the second batch of chickens just a few days ago, which means our freezers are loaded, poultry wise. Good news for all and truly something we can be thankful for. CHICKEN BONUS - we are offering to load up your November & December shares with as much of it as you can take ( literally the entire share, if desired!) Once January hits we will be working on selling it to all of our customers and clearing the freezer for spring.

RESERVE YOUR TURKEY NOW! - FROM RUSTLING GRASS FARM

Pastured, GMO/Soy Free, Organically raised Turkeys are being processed mid October and will be ready either with your share in November ($9/lb. shipped - $7.75/lb. local) or just before Thanksgiving - Nov. 17th ( $29 shipping fee)

Winter being just around the corner always induces us ( panics?) to get the wood in. First step is identifying the trees that are dead, diseased or injured and need to be brought down. The cows love eating the leaves of many of them and so "helping" is standing in the way and waiting for delicious treats to fall. Wood warms you several times over. Felling, bringing in, splitting, stacking, bringing that in the house & stacking... and finally, cleaning up the debris from all of it. Wouldn't trade the lovely wood heat for any other kind though. It sinks deep in and warms you where no other heat would do.

Share invoices come out on the 21st of every month and I will post this newsletter on our blog shortly after. I will also email you the link so you don’t miss the news. If the first shipping date doesn’t work for you, just let us know and we can arrange a later ship day.

Found this handsome man, out in the wild. Can I keep him?

It is only the 22nd and I'm feeling a little whip lash. From heat ( like 80F+!) to hard frosts, what does one wear? Well, in the morning it is all the clothes on, mostly because we are unused to it. Come February, a 20F day we will go out in t-shirts and find it lovely. Right now, hats, coats, gloves are all required. And oh, dry skin, you are back! Washing our hands with chicken processing has left them a bit parched so I have been doing some experimenting with our Tallow Balm. The coffee/vanilla looks like frosting and the men keep wanting to eat it. We tried another that had calendula and it had the pretties yellow color. Hoping to have them ready for you by the December share. You can grab them for stocking stuffers OR just hoard them for yourself. Lathering myself head to toe after a bath is the "lap of luxury" these days.

Cheers,
Kassandra
