This month has been one part a deep breath and two parts crazy. All of my own making though. This tallow balm has 'fun and games' until I have so many friends asking for it, and nothing to offer them. Decided it was time to take this seriously and get labels, jars and fine tune my recipes. It has been FUN! and boy, do I have a story behind it too. Not ready yet, but planning on getting it out on the web soon. In the meantime, wood has been put away, the beef moved across the road to the homestead and have been enjoying their new digs. Another batch of pigs went to our butcher to replenish our surprisingly low freezer. Rendering our fat on the wood stove while I clean forgotten areas of our home have been my rhythm for the past few weeks. May or may not have gone through a few more ice coffees lately, thanks to Raquette river coffee for fueling my late night sessions.
Thanksgiving is just around the corner and truly my favorite holiday. We all wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving and are incredibly grateful for your kind words, pictures of meals you have made, fun requests, recipes shared, and so much more. It is mind blowing to consider you have watched our boys grow from babies to men while we have been apart of meals for your families over the past two decades. Praying you all have a wonderful last few weeks of this year and a Happy New Year as we welcome 2026 in!
Warmly,
Kassandra
